The Jaguars played outstanding defense to overcome their two fumbles (first two fumbles given up this season) and also their first pass interception.
The Jaguars 19 to 6 win does not reflect the nearly even yards gained or given up to or against the Raiders (265 to 208). Compare that to the Jaguars’ offensive 309 yards against Carona and only giving up 30 (and the 45 to zip score). The Raider defense stopped the Jaguars when it really counted.
The "No Mouthpiece" penalty negated Schutte’s first down run and their fourth drive stalled on the ensuing play when we only gained 2 yards. Ouch!
Last week Michael Berber, Martin Duran and Josh Perez stepped up to recover fumbles. This week 3 new Jaguars showed they could eat Raider meat. It was Josh Gutierrez, Nick McIssac and Sean Tierney who all recovered Raider fumbles this week (stopping important Raider drives near mid-field).
Josh Perez improved his passing efficiency by 10% for the season by throwing 4 completions in 8 attempts this week for 60 yards and one TD.
Bryan Schutte has 410 yards rushing and 20 receiving in only 2 games.
The Jaguars pass, rush and score twice as much in the first quarter than any other quarter and their kicking game is only giving up 4 yards per return (average).
The Raiders completely abandoned their running game at mid 3rd qtr.
